Contemplating & Complaining about Prices
I’m sitting here contemplating the Back Roads of Yesterday, the price of gas and why the government is buying out a bunch of car builders when they should be letting them buy their own way out. What about the high wages all those big chief’s get? Can’t they help buy out the company and keep their jobs?
I am sitting here fuming over $8.5 Trillion.
I used to buy a loaf of bread for a dime at Ernie’s Store when I was a kid.
I used to buy a song on the Juke Box for a dime, in the Parrot on Last Chance Gulch in Helena.
I could get a dog an mustard at the game for a dime.
I could get a Hersey Bar, I could get a phone call. I could get two hours of parking all for a dime. A bottle of pop was a dime.
So now we are going to give Moe Larry and Curly money because the can’t sell cars.
I would look up to see what the total debt of Toyota is but it would make me ill. (Want to see what Microsoft’s debt is? Seems they owe $2,000,000,000.00 They have about 50 times that in cash in reserves to pay that off if they want.) We used to have good cars named Hudson, Studebaker, De Soto. My first car was a “4 holer” ’58 Buick that cost my Dad $250.00 he bought it so I could come home on weekends from my first away from home, real job he got me working for Mountain Bell for the Huge Sum of $120 a week.
Well I met a girl and forgot all about home, wouldn’t you know it?
I made $86 a month in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in July of 1967. My rank was E-1 Recruit.
Seems they pay a little more now. Guess I better go earn a little more Money!
